Testimonials - from our team members
God always has the team together that He wants to be here to accomplish HIS purpose and in us. This team was no exception. Tim and Karen do a wonderful job of leading, organizing and providing what the team needs to minister as required. God is using JWCM in Haiti in a very powerful way. Tim's wisdom and leadership is top notch. Karen's organization skills (and cooking) are off the charts. I will return. My trip highlights: A 13 year old girl gave her heart to Jesus. Ministering to the 20 children of an orphanage. Coming together for devotions morning and evening. By unknown (July 2018 Team Trip)
I have really enjoyed my time here with you all. You have made all of us so comfortable and have been such an inspiration. I love how you both love the people of Haiti. I have enjoyed serving you with the gifts and talents God has equipped me with. I hope to lead others as well as you'll have lead us. Your passion for the people is an encouragement in so many ways. Your love for Jesus has been the most impactful. I look forward to serving with you'll in the future. I love you'll! My trip highlights: Repairing Pastor Luckner's freezer and having them ask me to come back and teach a class. Helping with the dental and medical. Derek T. (July 2018 Team Trip)
Today I leave with mixed emotions. I can't wait to get home to my family, but I am so sad to be leaving Haiti. I have experienced such deep spiritual and personal growth. This week I have lived with such wise and passionate individuals and I am honored to be a part of this Haiti Missions family. This country has such poverty and much beauty. I have never seen such grateful people as the Haitians. It's much different than what we Americans display. Sadly, I now understand why other countries feel that Americans are spoiled. We really are!! I will never forget this trip or the bonds made with the missionaries and the Haitians. Devotions was my favorite part of the trip. I loved riding on the bus with the music blaring and singing to the top of our lungs! I loved the warmth felt with each Haitian that I took care of this week. Karen P. (Spring Trip 2017)
This trip was my first oversees to a third world country. It will not be my last. Everything on the trip went smoothly the entire week. Karen was a gracious host, so was Tim. We had plenty to eat and drink. I always felt safe. The guest house was nice. On Easter Sunday, we had a wonderful meal for dinner. I enjoyed helping the medical team. Everyone worked together as a team to get the work done. My daughter came with me and I'm so glad that she got to experience this country and culture. It will forever change both of us. Thank you Tim and Karen for what you do for the people of Haiti. Both of you are a blessing!! Amy L. (Spring Trip 2017)
Throughout my life I have never considered being a missionary, especially not in a third world country. When my mother first told me about the mission trip to Haiti and how she was drawn to it because of the medical clinic, I immediately shut down the idea but still encouraged her to go. The more I thought and the more I prayed, God told me that my decision not to go was wrong. He showed me this by speaking through my mother. She told me the medical and dental clinic were not the only options available. She said there were multiple opportunities to interact with children which is exactly what God has called me to do. When I arrived to Haiti I was scared but slowly and surely God was putting me exactly where I needed to be, that was being a dental assistant on the clinic bus while comforting the patients. This was my true calling. My trip highlights were: Interacting with the children; morning and evening devotions with the team. The amazing food that was prepared each day! Sharing the gospel of Christ to the people of Haiti. Addie L. (Spring Trip 2017)
Wow! First and foremost I want to thank God for blessing me with one of the greatest and most blessed experiences of my life. I'm also thankful to you all for allowing me to be a part. This experience has put more happiness and love into my world than anything I've experienced. I've always has a bid heart but to feel all the love the people of Haiti and especially the children have added into my I simply can't find the words to describe. My heart feels so full and my cup over flowing. When I first saw the inside of Haiti after leaving the airport my heart sank and I felt a sadness I've never known. Then battling Hurricane Matthew and everyone having such faith is nothing less than a movement of God. One thing I'll definitely leave Haiti feeling is how we come to bless them but they greater blessed us with having nothing but yet smiled the biggest smiles. I just love it here and cannot wait to come back. Thank you Jesus! My trip highlights: It's hard to list only a few. The clinics & orphanage, privilege to pray with the Haitian people. The hugs lit up my world. Anna G. (Fall 2016)
My Haiti trip experience was wonderful. I enjoyed the fellowship with everyone I came in contact with. I appreciate all the care and love that Tim & Karen showed while I stayed with them. Even though we were in the hurricane, the prayers to the Lord was heard and the hurricane was diverted from us. Even though we were not harmed other here in Haiti were affected. I pray that God will restore their villages and their lives. Thanks to God for this opportunity and the sharing among friends and now family, including Jackson and Bro. Son and all of the translators. Lastly I want to help the Haitians and their community the best way I can going forward. I will be in constant prayer for Haiti and all missionaries around the world. My trip highlights: 1) Seeing the rainbow over the house on my last day, remembering God's promise. 2) Being able to help others, by providing medical care & loving on the orphans. 3) Fellowship in the morning and evening devotions. 4) Learning a new language, making friends in the community. This was my first mission trip. My husband and I decided to come together to Haiti. Their culture is so different from ours, never knowing about electricity or running water. We take advantage of everything we do have. They do worship in church like we do. They enjoyed singing and the preaching and welcomed us with open arms. The children are amazing and so curious. Very much a learning experience and we would love to come again. My trip highlights were: visiting the orphanage, going to church; going to the beach which is beautiful. Mandy D. (Spring Trip 2016)
It was a great trip. I think there is real future at the revival location to continue doing them. -- Rev. John B. (Spring Trip 2016)
I was a little nervous about this trip, but I knew I needed this trip to get closer to God and to see what is was like to actually have nothing. I wanted to know what life was outside of my wonderful town that I live in, in the USA. I'm glad that I came, I honestly can say that I definitely loved this trip and it made my relationship better with God. I met wonderful Haitian people and I can't wait to come on another trip to see these wonderful people again. God Bless Haiti!! - Seth L. (Fall Trip, Nov. 7-14, 2015)
Before this trip, I felt lost. Right when I came to Haiti, I felt at home. I wanted God to speak to me in ways I haven't seen or heard before and He did. He showed me three things: Be still, Listen and Act. He put me out of my comfort zone to show me these things and it was exactly what I have been praying for, and exactly what I needed. I've been waiting for this trip for months because God has been dealing with my heart for months in ways I was just really unsure about. Everything I've been dealing with and going through in previous months are clear to me now. And my relationship with God isn't only clearer but stronger as well. This trip was life changing in more ways than words on this page.- Jen L. (Fall Trip, Nov. 7-14, 2015)
God gave me exactly what I needed for this trip. I didn't know what to expect, I knew what everyone had told me. I prayed for a long time to come on this trip. To see the amount of hunger, poverty, and uneducated people. My heart broke to see these people suffering. I prayed that I might be able to do good and to help. I wanted to see a positive effect of my actions. God provided that. I also was struggling personally and my relationship with God was being tested. This group and mission has helped me to work through my struggles. To see the joy and praise for God these people have is astounding. To see their severe suffering and be able to worship with them made me put aside my own struggles and to praise with them. They helped me just as much! This group of people love helping and I have been honored to be a part of this trip. - Jennifer W. (Fall Trip, Nov. 7-14, 2015)
I kept telling myself and others I would not be coming back to Haiti. The place we stayed was awesome, fans and a pool!! Got to know several missionary kids, Sierra, London, Austin. Great kids! We worked hard and I don't regret it. Thank you for this trip; God put together just the "right" people. - Mona C. (Fall Trip, Nov. 7-14, 2015)
This trip was one of the best ever and not because of the extraordinary accommodations at Global Outreach. Tuesday we were a little sad because we couldn't do clinic due to heavy rain the night before. But God knew we needed a full work day at the church to get it ready for the dedication Friday. The entire team pitched in and we accomplished so much that day so God amazed us yet again. The clinic on Wednesday went much smoother and God worked after clinic to get more done on the church so we could take a day trip to Fond Blanc on Thursday. That trip was amazing! We played with the orphanage children then walked through the village. What a life impacting eye opener. Back at the orphanage we did balloons with the kids then lined them up and gave them candy and treats. The dedication at Cite' Soleil on Friday far exceeded anything I could have imagined. We also loved the entire day. –Kim M. (Spring Trip, March 28- April 4, 2015)
I had a wonderful experience getting to know my team members. We worked as a cohesive unit. But mostly getting to know the Haitians. They are special people. I fell in love with one little Haitian girl. She has such personality – always posing, like a model! The dedication of Cite' Soleil church was so rewarding. The Haitians really worshipped the Lord. We were welcomed by them. –Kimberly B. (Spring Trip, March 28- April 4, 2015)
